The Institutional Assessment and Research team at the College of the Holy Cross provides insight and advanced analytics to inform data-driven decisions that improve student outcomes and educational effectiveness. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented analyst who can transform raw data into meaningful insights. This individual will be part of a team that applies advanced statistical modeling and data visualization techniques to support the assessment of student learning and program evaluation.
The Senior Research Analyst will develop complex analyses using multi-platform data sources and software to produce institutional assessment reports. The candidate should have experience with the development of applied research models, which may include more sophisticated analytic designs, such as regression and multi-level modeling. Specific duties may include information searches, literature reviews, study design review, data collection, data mining, data cleaning, data management, data analysis, and the identification of findings. He/she will have strong communication skills and will work closely with the Director to develop and communicate statistical output in a manner that is engaging and understandable to different audiences
Major Areas of Responsibility
Administer, and analyze surveys, and other instruments, related to assessing and evaluating student learning outcomes and educational effectiveness in executing the College's mission.
Apply quantitative or mixed methods research skills on projects related to the assessment of student learning and/or program evaluation
Conduct, visualize, and explain inferential statistics and more complex analytics, such as multiple regression and multi-level modeling.
Create custom, targeted reports, research briefs, and dashboards that deliver insights into the current outcomes of different programs and opportunities for future improvements.

Must have a master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Psychology, Sociology or Education preferred; B.S./B.A. with related job-related experience. Strong technical skills, including experience with query and data visualization tool. SQL, Tableau, Infographics experience strongly desired. Excellent data management skills, including the ability to manipulate large, complex datasets using SPSS, R, Oracle/Peoplesoft or Excel. Must have proficiency conducting quantitative, mixed methods or evaluation studies in a related field, including demonstrated expertise in research design and descriptive and inferential data analysis techniques. Proficiency with software tools for data management and analysis, such as Web applications, SPSS, and Qualtrics. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). A Strong analytical, organizational, planning, written communication and oral skills. Knowledge of measurement theory, including the ability to conduct validity and reliability studies. A Strong written and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of survey and applied educational research designs.
