Provides administrative support services to the Vice President and staff assigned to the Human Resources Department. Oversee completion of all administrative tasks related to the daily operations of the Department. The Staff Associate’s role will emphasize advocacy for current and potential faculty and staff through problem-solving, decision-making, and accessing of internal and external resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the department in all activities related to institutional mission, goals, and strategic plan; assist with the development of programmatic initiatives, implementation of policy and procedure, and management of projects.
Prepares materials for the Board of Trustee packages and Division reports.
Manage all administrative tasks and technical responsibilities related to the Department including manage Vice President and Director’s calendars through scheduling of internal and external meetings.
Serves as Department budget liaison by meeting regularly with Director of Budgeting and Financial Reporting, analyzing overall department budget reports and making recommendations to the Vice President and Director.
Assist the Director with planning and implementation of department and college wide events including professional development.
Participates in Department meetings taking and transcribing minutes appropriately.
Responds to inquires of a highly sensitive and complex nature. Investigate routine complaints and, if necessary, report to Vice President or Director in a timely manner.
Demonstrate exemplary level of confidentiality in all faculty and staff personnel matters.
1. Bachelor’s degree required in related field, and five years of work related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR a plus.
2. Three to five years of office management experience including supervisory experience, preferably in a Human Resources setting. Experience in Higher Education preferred.
3. Candidate must have excellent time management skills, be able to meet deadlines, have flexibility, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.
4. Must have critical thinking, sound decision-making, judgment, and problem solving skills.
5. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other technology related software. Preferred experience using BANNER software.
6. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as cooperatively within the college community. Candidate should be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing.
7. Successful experience interacting with a culturally diverse faculty, staff and student body.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Salary: $51,070.00 - $63,000.00
