Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Office (VPDI) is seeking applications for an Executive Assistant to the Vice President and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to provide executive level, collaborative administrative support. Executive administrative responsibilities include briefing the Vice President regularly on status of projects, deadlines, and meeting preparations; recommending solutions; managing scheduling for the Vice President; as well as screening and directing all incoming communications. The Executive Assistant will research, analyze, and prepare reports for the Vice President.
The successful candidate will have the ability to foster positive, collegial, and collaborative relationships in addition to the ability to anticipate and address the needs of the Vice President and office by utilizing strong analytical skills; sound/independent judgment and discretion; and the ability to understand, analyze, communicate and coordinate highly complex issues and information to a diverse population of internal and external constituents.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 5 years. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience working in a higher education institution.
Experience which demonstrates knowledge of Iowa State University policies, procedures and practices.
Executive level administrative support experience.
