Junior Compliance Officer

Institutional Banking and Markets is one of the client-facing businesses within the Commonwealth Bank and manages the Bank's Institutional, Corporate, and Business clients. The business provides customised products and services for clients with more complex financial needs. IB&M designs and produces business products for distribution across the Bank, and undertakes financial markets activities in foreign exchange, debt, equities and derivatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to MLRO, as well as providing Line 1 with advice on day-to-day BSA/AML/CTF and Financial Crime matters affecting the business, including, but not limited to, customer identification and due diligence, enhanced due diligence, client risk assessment, waiver requests, etc.
Your role will also entail SAR investigation and reporting; perform 314a bi-weekly screening checks and investigation of alerts. You will maintain AML policy and procedures, compile relevant regulatory actions (e.g. fines, penalties, civil, criminal etc.) in relation to BSA AML, Financial Crime, ABC violations for Management reporting and have an understanding and be able to update MLRO and other teams on regulatory landscape changes.
You will support BSA/AML MLRO with BSA AML training assignment; Review BSA/AML Financial Crime training modules (electronic) and maintain status/completion tracking; Create face to face BSA AML Training. You will be required to conduct research/gap analysis around new business activities, products, etc. And perform quality assurance testing around transaction monitoring and wire payment screening, KYC on-boarding, OFAC sanction lists.
