As part of the Revenue Cycle, the Patient Liaison serves as intermediary between healthcare organizations and patients, and patients’ relatives in resolving patient care problems. The Patient Liaison conveys questions, complaints, problems and concerns of patients and providers to proper personnel. The Patient Liaison will also describe and interpret health care procedures and policies to providers and patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Act as a liaison between patients, patient’s relatives, Sinai Health System and designated affiliated organizations.
Help navigate patients and families through the health care system by answering questions and facilitating communication with appropriate staff and/or physicians.
Monitor queues for assignments and work closely with internal SHS and designated affiliated organizations departments to assure appropriate prioritization of sensitive prior authorization cases.
Maintain a strong relationship with patients, providers, hospital departments, and physician offices.
Answer incoming inquiries from patients, providers, staff and others related to all aspects of patient care.
Identify issues and provide recommendations to management team for improvements in productivity, quality and customer service standards.
Assist with day to day planning and goal implementation.
Handle complaints/suggestions from health care providers or patients regarding customer service.
Schedules or coordinates the scheduling of appointments for services conducted at SHS.
Provides patient education information and/or materials as needed.
Conducts follow-up with patients to ensure compliance with all testing and plan of care.
Assist in other areas of the organization in the event of an immediate need.

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR G.E.D EQUIVALENT
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 2 years working experience with insurance precertification and financial clearance.
