SUMMARY: This full-time exempt position within the Operations team is responsible for supporting the Alumni & Development Services team with their business process and user experience needs. This person will review current business processes and meet with key stakeholders in order to gain a complete understanding of current procedures, identify improvements, document those processes, and ensure that there is integration between business and technology. He/she will structure and conduct user research, develop interface concepts; design and coordinate usability testing; and assist on project scoping and development with staff in relation to user experience projects. This individual must have demonstrated experience in creative problem-solving with a focus on providing a more seamless experience for end users in the service, digital, and physical environments. He/she will work collaboratively with the Business Process Manager and department leaders to understand the user experience needs, provide quality assurance, and to ensure that the design of services and facilities is dedicated to improving the total user experience and ensuring optimal accessibility and efficiency of resources. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Business Process Manager in supporting Alumni & Development Services with their business process and user experience needs. Develop and manage effective working relationships with AA&D Technology and Support Services, Central Administration, Schools and Units.
Conduct interviews, focus groups, and review analytics to assist in determining the need for new/enhanced functionality as well as to identify workflow issues and propose solutions for current processes and technology needs.
Gather and document functional and technical requirements in collaboration with AA&D Technology and Support Services. Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses of data. Translate requirements into reporting solutions, analytic tools and dashboards to deliver actionable data to end users.
Write and execute comprehensive test plans that validate the accuracy of information and functionality to ensure delivery of high quality business intelligence platforms.
Manage and develop communication and training plans for staff regarding system policies, procedures and reporting. Train staff in the use of data systems to streamline processes and properly utilize reporting tools.
Work with Business Process Manager to finalize and execute project plans.
Provide end user support for technology used within Alumni & Development Services that is not currently supported by HUIT or CAADS (including but not limited to SharePoint, Nintex forms and workflows, scanning stations, and document management systems).
Create simple to complex data, reporting, and business intelligence solutions by utilizing existing reporting, analytics and business intelligence platforms. Identify gaps in data collection, the data model, and meta data for future infrastructure enhancements.
Represents Alumni & Development Services at AA&D Technology and Support Services' LPM meetings as needed.
Oversee standardization of reconciliation and controls reporting between Alumni & Development Services, University Planned Giving, and Harvard Management Company.
Manage the University's annual pledge review process in partnership with the Associate Director, Compliance and Internal Controls.
Perform monthly, bi-annual, and year-end gift/pledge and reconciliation data reporting to development and financial offices.

A Bachelor's degree at an accredited institution with a minimum 4 years of relevant business process experience required.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
Minimal travel required, conferences or peer meetings. Some evening and weekend work required.
Strong analytical background and proficient in data analysis utilizing a variety of software tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals.
Must exhibit great attention to detail and have the ability to produce clear documentation.

Ability to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways.
Experience with SQL, Toad, ADVANCE and Qlikview and other Business Intelligence technologies desirable.
