Reporting to the Director of StormCard and Parking, the Coordinator- Public Safety Operations is responsible managing Public Safety’s Operations Center, ensuring exemplary customer service to visitors (students, parents, employees, etc.), providing direction to a team of student workers, budget management for student workers and inventory and payroll management for the Customer Service team.
Manage performance of the Customer Service Specialist and a team of student workers. Maintain appropriate staffing levels to ensure top customer service, train and provide direction to the Customer Service team and proactively engage in the staff’s professional development.
Execute daily Operation Center operations while also coordinating staff activities and managing productivity.
Support internal and external University events including new student orientation training programs for new employees, conference service guest services, affiliates and campus events.
Adjudicate requests for StormCard fee waivers and parking fines.
Manage inventory and budgets for the Student Worker staff, StormCard and Parking.
Conduct daily billing reconciliation and administrative reports.
Manage Operations Center schedule and associated payroll.
Troubleshoot University member’s access issues.
Liaison with and maintain a positive working relationship with all campus departments and staff.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends all other meetings as required.
3-5 years experience in customer service, 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred
Experience working in higher education security/public safety is strongly desired.
Current valid NYS motor vehicle operator’s license.
Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with computer applications including Banner (preferred), MS office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
This position requires a 12 month, 365 days/year commitment to the Operations Center.
Ability to take initiative and implement a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously.
Ability to take existing procedures and improve upon them to run more efficient and technologically advanced.
Ability to act independently.
Demonstrate maturity and wisdom when dealing with visitors and employees.
