We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Analyst.
This position will support the Department of Population Health's Vice Chair for Research in implementing the departments strategic plan for research development and success including supporting collaboration across the department as well as successful submissions of large collaborative research grants.
Provide support to the research leadership in strategic planning and development of a research roadmap to expand and deepen the departments research in cross-cutting priority areas.
Support a mixed method evaluation, that includes a detailed gap and asset analysis, of the status of the departments infrastructure, capacity, and content areas for research growth in identified priority areas.
Align the development of the Departments strategic plan and evaluation for research development that is congruent and complementary to the Schools evaluation metrics.
Implement targeted strategies and programs (such as coordination of trainings/workshops/mock reviews) to improve NIH, CDC, and AHRQ success rates that are tailored to the needs and capacity across faculty groups.
Facilitate collaborative research development opportunities with the department across divisions and between the department and other departments and external stakeholders/partners.
Identify and disseminate funding announcements to potentially interested investigators.
Identify potential large funding opportunities (centers, cooperative agreements, pragmatic trials, etc.) that align with department research priorities, strategic goals, and assets
Support asset and gap analysis of departments capacity to submit successful grant applications in response to different opportunities, including identifying the innovation and uniqueness of department led efforts
Participate in technical assistance webinars and other workshops relevant to large collaborative research and/or programmatic opportunities
Work with senior investigators to craft an action plan with timeline for positioning a competitive application in response to a large research grant opportunity
Provide support as needed to senior investigators on large collaboration research efforts that include writing and reviewing key technical sections
Support the writing, coordination, and submission for time-sensitive applications relevant to the Departments strategic priorities
Maintain repository of grant writing resources for investigators
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree and at least three years of relevant work experience with evaluation, analytic, strategic planning, and research responsibilities
Experience in evaluation and strategic planning
Strong communication and oral skills
Successful experience in writing grants and publications
Experience with submission, coordination, and management of large center and infrastructure resource applications
Experience in research coordination
Strong technical skills with relevant software packages
Experience leading and/or supporting research development seminars/trainings
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse personalities, and the wide variety of professional backgrounds
Masters degree or PhD and four years relevant experience in an academic, health research, and/or public health setting
