Posting Summary: The University of Virginia's Department of Parking and Transportation is seeking a friendly, organized and reliable Accounting Assistant to join their Business Office. This position is responsible for daily reconciliation of cash received, daily and monthly reporting, entry of deposits, processing of change funds, internal financial audit, monthly accounts receivable/payable billing, creation of financial reports, and general reconciliation. Additionally, this position processes routine financial documents and fund transactions, reconciles financial records, analyzes routine financial data, and assists in the development, coordination, and maintenance of unit budgets, as appropriate. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for detailed data entry and reporting, and performs routine duties under close supervision and seeks guidance from supervisors or other experienced team members, as needed.
Qualified candidates must have at least two years of experience in a professional office setting, at least two years experience performing responsibilities related to fiscal technician and/or accounting, a valid driver's license with a positive DMV point balance, be willing and able to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) learner's permit with Air Brakes and Passengers endorsements within the first 90 days of employment and ability to work a flexible schedule (including additional hours outside of standard workweek), when needed.
