This complex, multi-site operation has annual operating costs of $400 million and staffing levels of approximately 6,000, excluding the normal seasonal ramp. Primary Responsibilities:Develop, perform and manage the analyses of business and financial metrics as -well as performance measures Understand and incorporate industry specific metrics into reports to highlight relevant trends and support fact-based business decisions Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate month-end actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget Develop and maintain financial tools, models, and reports to consolidate data from a variety of sources Develop, perform and manage all aspects of financial planning, monthly budgeting / forecasting activities and analysis Work closely with the business to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans, and processes to improve profitability and cost efficiencies Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a clear, compelling message for their stakeholders Make contributions to the team and serve as key resource to others Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field or equivalent work experience Intermediate level experience with Excel to include (Macros, V-Lookups, SumIFs, Pivot Tables) 4 or more years of finance and/or accounting experience Financial acumen and P&L management skills experience Preferred Qualifications:Workforce planning experience Experience driving business performance in a high growth environment Financial planning and analysis experience Experience anticipating accounting, forecasting, and operational issues, assessing their implications, and developing and implementing an appropriate action plan MPWR, Smart View or other planning tool experience Experience developing queries utilizing MS Access, Excel Addin-ODBC capabilities or other DB query experience Strong analytical and technical experience Soft Skills:Work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment to drive revenue enhancement and expense management initiatives Executive presence, ability to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders Careers with Optum.
