Florida Hospital Kissimmee seeks to hire a Director - Ancillary Services who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Florida Hospital Kissimmee is a 163 bed community-focused hospital, conveniently located near Walt Disney World. The team here is dedicated to bringing mission-focused, faith-based care to residents and visitors of Osceola and Orange Counties. At the heart of our latest expansion is a new, three-story tower featuring 80 expansive, private patient rooms and a host of modern amenities and technologies. The Director of Ancillary Services is responsible for direction and oversight of the daily operations of the following departments, as delineated by campus: Imaging, IP & OP Rehabilitation, Environmental Services, Nutritional Services, Respiratory, PA/PFS/Registration/Concierge, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Retail Pharmacy, Transportation, Oncology, Cardiology, and/or Orthopedics. Adheres and assures that staff adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Bachelor's degree in health sciences, healthcare administration, communications, business, marketing or related field
Strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and projects; able to manage financial, clinical, service, team, and market activities to meet goals in an organized, prioritized fashion.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Competence in the latest computing software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office program: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
Strong team building and leadership skills; ability to work with both campus and system leaders and executives in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals
Ability to manage multiple projects, roles, and departments simultaneously
Ability to organize and integrate multiple organizational priorities and deadlines across many departments at one time
Ability to research, prepare comprehensive reports, and recommend and implement successful strategies
Ability to develop and initiate, in conjunction with executives and physicians, operational strategies to improve the performance of the hospital
Ability to read, analyze and report on financial statements and market reports
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff, leadership, physicians, patients, vendors, and customers of varying backgrounds in a professional manner
Ability to effectively make decisions and perform under stressful situations
Proficiency in Microsoft Access (Preferred)
Bilingual proficiency: English required, Spanish (Preferred)
Master's degree, particularly in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Preferred)
Previous healthcare experience in professional role
Five or more years of progressive management experience
Experience working on budgets and financial performance analysis
Experience with the accreditation process (Preferred)
Experience working with healthcare industry leaders (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for the accreditation and Five Element Performance of assigned departments.
Provides clear vision and strategic plans for the hospital's patient experience Ensures that ancillary services are complementary to clinical nursing initiatives
1. Member of Operations Committee to meet annual and 90-day priorities
2. Special projects as needed to benefit hospital performance and growth
3. Development of programs and implementing initiatives that support the strategic goals.
4. Leading out in creating and ensuring opportunities for innovation and strategy development for each direct report department.
5. Leading out on collaborative, interdisciplinary teams and committees.
6. Ensuring that plans and performance around patient experience in each department (IP & OP) of the hospital are in alignment with our strategic goals.
7. Leadership development of the managers directly reporting to them.
8. Selecting and ensuring that high-quality, effective leaders are in place for each department. Guiding leaders as they create effective, productive teams and maintain appropriate peer relationships to facilitate organizational objectives.
Follows and enforces adherence of departments to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan; ensures safety and protection of confidentiality of patient information and results at all times.
Ensures an environment that is conducive for the implementation of all regulatory guidelines and laws, including Florida Hospital's corporate compliance plan
OPERATING & CAPITAL BUDGET/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Ensures that all departments operate within allocated budget
Implements appropriate tracking systems for all success measures, and report on these measures as requested
Prepares, executes, and monitors departmental operating budgets to ensure appropriate staffing, professional development, space, supplies, and all equipment necessary for maintaining and improving the quality of services provided to patients and stakeholders
Attains outlined volume projections and revenue goals for revenue-generating departments Identifies new revenue streams as needed to ensure attainment of strategic organizational goals
STRATEGIC PLANNING RESPONSIBILITY:
Develops and implements initiatives, processes, and create goals that align with the campus strategies while still supporting Florida Hospital system initiatives.
Develops and coordinates services that support the care that physicians provide to patients
Assists in creation of long-term strategic plan for Ancillary Services Remains connected to research, industry, and technological advances in healthcare in order to ensure that the hospital remains on the cutting-edge of patient care
Develops strategic plans to ensure volume goals are met in each department
PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:
Directs and ensures process and performance improvement initiatives are happening on a continual basis within ancillary service departments.
Participates in process improvement and development of action plans to improve patient care processes.
Identifies, reviews, and prioritizes opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of ancillary service departments
Monitors relevant outcomes and provides suggestion for process change to ensure that the departments are providing services at a level that is appropriate for all stakeholders
Actively participates in decision-making committees whose activities result in performance improvements
COMMUNITY RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITY:
Coordinates efforts to promote and provide information on the CREATION Health philosophy to the leaders and employees working in ancillary services
Ensures that the programs offered are properly communicated in the community
Creates the space and opportunity for individuals to connect with the community through volunteerism
Responsible for the leadership development, identification of opportunities for improvement, and growth of leaders
Actively promotes employee engagement, teamwork, patient satisfaction, and a culture of safety for employees and patients.
Develops and maintains a highly engaged workforce Provides daily support for department operations
Ensures the maintenance of appropriate levels and quality of staff in each department
Responsible for creating a culture and environment of safety, open communication, high performance, customer service, and innovation for employees
Actively involved in seeking out the input, needs and concerns of staff, physicians, and leadership in order to ensure attainment of departmental and organizational goals and initiatives.
