The College of Medicine, Department of Environmental Health is looking for a Program Coordinator. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.
Job Summary: Under general supervision from a designated administrator, plan, design, evaluate, modify and coordinate programs for a department or college.
Job Duties: General duties will include, but not be limited to:
Coordinate/assist in administering all aspects of the graduate program such as recruitment and financial aid;
Maintain a database for use in evaluating potential graduate students from different/foreign universities;
Prepare all statistical data to assist the director in allocation of graduate funding for assistantships, scholarships and tuition remissions;
Maintain database of department alumni;
Responsible for preparation of PCR forms for graduate student stipends;
Maintain files and tracking of current and applying graduate students;
Plan and execute all events relating to the Graduate Program Programs Office (GPO orientation, weekly seminar, other events as necessary)
Provide front desk coverage when student workers are not available;
Manage administrative portion of student admissions;
Assist in other departmental administrative needs as required.
This position will report to the Sr. Business Administrator for all administrative and financial matters, and to the Director of the Graduate Program for all other functions.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with one (1) year experience; -OR- Associate's degree with three (3) years experience; -OR- five (5) years experience. Experience must be in program coordination.
Ideal Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have experience in the following areas:
Extensive knowledge of UC systems and processes;
Event planning experience;
Experience working with college students, preferably graduate level students;
Ability to work under pressure, with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities and fluctuating workloads;
Strong interpersonal skills are required to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, alumni, prospective students, recruiters, faculty, and staff;
Demonstrated experience in a high level customer service environment;
Skills in organizing work, defining tasks, prioritizing assignments, and following through on all projects independently;
Ability to effectively use MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
