Reporting to the faculty director of the HCM program, has primary responsibility for curricular, extracurricular and operational management of the Yale School of Public Health, Health Care Management (HCM) program. The HCM program currently includes over 65 students, most of who are pursuing the MPH degree; Approximately 25- 30% are pursuing joint degrees. The Program manager will play a key role in recruitment, advising, special events and meetings, mentoring, and alumni engagement and development. The manager will liaise with the appropriate staff and leadership of the YSPH.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Develop the curriculum for the MPH/MBA (2 year); MPH/MBA( 3 year); and Health Care Management (HCM) program. Provide tools for objective and subjective evaluation of student milestones, achievements, and satisfaction with current curriculum. 2. Serves as primary liaison to approximately 65 matriculated students in all programs. Provides mentorship and advising: 1)Ensuring that all of our students are on-track to complete the unique curriculum and working with the SOM registrar to ensure that coursework and progress is monitored (Bi-annual audits of all students to ensure that all are on track to complete school and concentration requirements.) 2) Meeting with the students, to help coordinate the career development service that exist internally, as well as through our dedicated staff at YSPH and SOM. 3) Working with our network to help our current students; 4) Working with the student liaisons to create events that build connections between the programs and the junior and senior students. 3. Creating and maintaining an accessible, real-time, on-line database of internships and full time positions. 4. Working with the faculty director to manage the admission's process of over 200 applicants, in coordination with the director of admissions at both YSPH and SOM. 5. Supervision of recruitment events, in collaboration with the career offices at YSPH and SOM. 6. Leads program communication efforts through social media accounts. 7. Managing and developing all marketing efforts/material to prospective employers. 8. Create marketing, public relations and development efforts/strategy with the Associate Dean for development. 9. Annual reporting: The YSPH HCM program, perhaps uniquely, has a history of creating and sending out an annual report to affiliates, alumni, and students. The report includes information of interest to our stakeholders and can be used both for development purposes as well as for our own internal benchmarking of accomplishments and future goals. The information is gathered over the course of the year; collated in late june and edited for final distribution in mid-summer, before classes start. 10. Supervises student workers. 11. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Bachelor's degree and 5 years administrative experience in the healthcare sector; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Masters in Public Health and/or Masters in Business Administration preferred, in which case 3 years administrative experience is sufficient.
Required Licenses Or Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
