Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Department of Administration and Planning at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall administration of the Cancer Center's Clinical and Translational Science activities. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
With direction from the Associate Directors, Basic and Translational Research, implements strategic planning and goal setting that is consistent with Cancer Institute of New Jersey's strategic plan; serves as primary agent for Envisio activities related to Clinical and Translational Research goals and objectives.
Supervises support staff for Associate Directors for Basic and Translational Research.
Compiles data and prepares reports and presentations.
Assists with work supervision of support staff of the Associate Directors for Basic and Translational Research to ensure the timely and accurate performance of essential responsibilities.
Works with the Associate Directors for Basic and Translational Research on the planning and implementation of the resident Clinical and Translational Research Faculty Mentoring Program. Facilitates monthly Research-in-Progress meetings.
Identifies clinical and translational research support deficiencies and brings Cancer Institute of New Jersey resources to assist in correcting such deficiencies.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience involving administrative organization, planning and development and the recommendation of improved methods.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work effectively with faculty and staff in a collaborative research setting.
Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects and people simultaneously.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn bibliographic software (EndNote) and computer-based literature searches (Medline).
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Prior experience in an educational institution.
