We have an opening for a full-time Director of Individual Giving who will be responsible for leading the museum’s individual annual giving program including our highest level individual donor group, the Directors’ Vision Council, our successful Circle Donor program, and a reinvigorated Shapiro Society—our planned giving program—all of which provides approximately $3 million in annual philanthropic support. In addition, this position provides leadership to key support groups including the Women’s Board, Emerge—a collecting group, and three regional affiliate groups; and spends a large part of his/her time in face-to-face meetings and solicitations with prospects and donors.
Desired qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, seven to ten years of progressive experience in the areas of fundraising—particularly in the arts, and:
Proven track record of achieving financial goals and developing productive and professional relationships with volunteers and support groups involved in the development and membership process.
Exceptional ability to manage, cultivate, and grow a portfolio of donors.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as ability to effectively manage and supervise professional staff.
An understanding of prospect research and cultivation strategies, as well as experience with fundraising database systems (knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge a plus).
Knowledge of membership programs is a plus.
This is a full time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm and weekends and evenings as required. Ability to operate general office equipment and to have general mobility throughout museum, offices and event spaces.
