The Department of Education, Development, Teaching, and Learning (EDTL) at Central Washington University (CWU) seeks twohighly prepared, engaging, and passionate constructivist teacher educators to join our teaching faculty in Elementary and Middle School (K-8) Programs. Our mission is to provide excellent quality instruction and to implement the teacher-scholar model of professional engagement. The ideal candidates will have legacy evidence of classroom experience with diverse learners, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
CWU's College of Education has approximately 50 full-time faculty, who offer undergraduate majors, minors and/or teaching endorsements in Bilingual Education/ Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Literacy, Middle Level Education, Gifted Education, and Special Education, as well as foundations courses for other teaching programs. EDTL also offers graduate and/or advanced certificate programs in highly capable, bilingual/TESL, and literacy education. Faculty and staff are committed to preparing outstanding leaders and facilitators of learning for diverse school populations.
Earned Doctorate in Elementary and/or Middle School Education or a closely-related field. (Doctoral degree must be completed no later than September 1, 2018)
Minimum of three years of certificated public school teaching experience in the United States at the PreK-8 grade level.
Demonstrated commitment to the constructivist teaching philosophy and techniques.
Commitment to diversity and inclusivity through demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
Expertise in multiple content areas within the Elementary/Middle School domain (social studies, arts, mathematics, science, etc.) as well as curricular content integration.
Evidence of demonstrated excellence in teaching at K-8 and higher education.
Experience in field supervision and/or mentoring.
Experience with a variety of diverse learners.
Strong communication, interpersonal and technological skills.
Involvement in professional organizations related to the (K-8) Elementary Education/Middle School field.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
Appointment: Full-Time, Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment. Additional summer teaching may be available.
