The Technology Licensing Office of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking a Technology Licensing Associate (TLA) who will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating material transfer agreements (MTAs) to support researchers interested in gaining access to research tools from both companies and academic research institutions. Supporting an Associate Technology Licensing Officer, the TLA will act as a liaison between MIT researchers and the material providers to facilitate transactions. Responsibilities also include management of a material transfer agreement database as well as implementation of administrative systems and procedures to facilitate the MTA process. B.A. or B.S. degree in the life sciences or biomedical fields required. Some research and/or business experience and familiarity with material transfer agreements is a plus. Facility with computer applications, preferably involving database systems is necessary. Must be detail and deadline oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, including the ability to quickly communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly. Excellent organizational and priority setting skills, good judgment, and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are also required. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity, is a self-starter who thrives in an environment that encourages strategic thinking, and enjoys working independently in a collaborative setting. This is a full-time position.
