The Division of Financial Affairs (DFA) provides central financial functions in support of the university's academic mission. DFA's vision is, "To deliver world-class financial services to the university."
Work within a team to provide business intelligence financial information delivery and reporting solutions to meet university distributed financial decision-making requirements and financial initiatives undertaken by the Division of Financial Affairs. Collaborate with campus stakeholders to identify, define, and document business requirements. Translate requirements into technical definitions used for implementing a solution to meet business needs. Work closely with database administrators and reporting application maintenance staff in central IT organization on the analysis, development and implementation for new technologies and solutions.
Perform quality assurance tasks to ensure information integrity in published reports and supporting warehouses. Oversee data validation on nightly data warehouse loads from financial system. Check and validate published reports for consistency, accuracy and general quality control during software, hardware and infrastructure upgrades. Monitor systems for availability and reliability; assist in communication and resolution when issues occur.
Advise, consult, and provide guidance in the use and selection of appropriate financial information from financial systems, dashboards and ad hoc reporting, through responses to help tickets, one-on-one consulting and general or customized training sessions. Analyze reported issues and follow through to satisfactory resolution.
Bachelor's degree with 5 -7years' experience in financial data managementwith strong information delivery knowledge, analytical skills, abilityto maximizeuse ofreportingtools, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced knowledge of business intelligence applications including databases, warehouses, and reporting tools.
Proven customerservice, excellent communicationand problemsolvingskills are essential.
Ability to collaborate effectivelyandefficientlywith co-workers and multiplelevels ofmanagement regardingfinancial information delivery.
Demonstrated abilityto takeinitiative, set priorities to managemultiple demands, and work independently.
A strong financialand accountingbackground.
Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Hyperion (Brio) Interactive Reporting Studio, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access) and SQL.
A broad knowledge of administrative functions and systems at Cornell will be beneficial.
