Steward Health Care is seeking a physician to lead St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center’s Comprehensive Addictions Program (SECAP) as the Chief of the Division of Addiction Medicine in the Department of Medicine. SECAP, founded in 1976, is Boston’s oldest hospital-based program for alcohol and drug dependency. Our comprehensive program provides emergency department screening, inpatient care, immediate access to medical specialties, including psychiatry, infectious disease, gastroenterology, pain management, and intensive care, as well as spiritual care. Outpatient services, such as education, counseling, support groups, and medically assisted therapies, are also offered. Patients can expect to receive high-quality care in a safe, confidential environment.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine strongly preferred
Eligible for licensure in Massachusetts
Acquaintance with divisional leadership skills, including recruitment and retention of physicians and staff, oversight of divisional relationships with other elements of the hospital and practice operations.
Demonstrated leadership and experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated emphasis on quality and patient safety, including experience with quality improvement projects.
Ability to engage in external relations, including community and patient outreach, and outreach to primary care physicians and specialists.
