It's the opportunity to do your life's best work.(sm) We are looking for a clinician to join Optum's clinical team and support the design, development and testing of a range of primary care products and services. Key focus will be on design of processes and tools to support improved patient access, scheduling and triage and in the longer term, planned care delivery. Working either from the Paddington, London office or Telecommuting / Working At Home, this position is based wherever most convenient for the applicant on a regular basis. However, meetings through various parts England are regular and often weekly. While we will try to place the post holder at a site within a reasonable commute from their homes, this is not always possible, and overnight stays do happen occasionally. Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in United Kingdom. Primary Responsibilities: Develop primary care clinical products and services Work with the clinical team to define and deliver tasks to deliver clinical backlog and roadmap, with a primary focus on improving efficiency and quality of clinical administrative and triage processes Gather / analyse / validate applicable data from internal and external sources (e.g., clients, prospects, potential customers) to identify market characteristics/needs/problems Define user characteristics to drive product planning efforts (e.g., personas, archetypes) Assure sound clinical content applicable in real life primary care setting Leverage a wide range of evidenced based material to define new clinical processes Create clinical pathways from scratch based on client need, focussed on patient journeys in primary care Work closely technology colleagues to define business requirements, features and functionality of assisting applications, software and technology Develop associated policies, procedures and guidelines to support changes to medical and clinical operations as a result of product portfolio Work closely with clinical governance team to ensure all products adhere to Optum's clinical governance standards as well as national standards/regulatory requirements Deliver clinical pilots to support on-going product development efforts Deliver clinical pilots and product testing against user requirements and standards (Optum and national) Develop/deliver/ensure product training/education for applicable internal and external audiences (e.g., sales team, health plans, brokers, vendors), collaborating with appropriate stakeholders as needed (e.g., training staff, sales leadership, subject matter experts) Work with a broader range of clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to create and adjust patient journey flows ranging from but not limited to acute care navigation, clinical administration and medication management Leverage clinical experience to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders, largely clinical, to creating product fit for purpose for UK NHS primary care Identify and mitigate applicable risks associated with product implementation (e.g., regulatory concerns) Ensure that identified issues/problems are addressed prior to product launch (e.g., monitor product testing activities as required) Ensure readiness of all internal and external functional business partners to ensure a successful product launcEnsure compliance of GP clinical products and services Interpret compliance/clinical/medical reports Evaluate compliance with national and organizational guidelines Evaluate products and services against accreditation standards Evaluate products and services against contractual requirements Support ongoing monitoring and internal auditing against relevant guidelines and standards Support implementation of process improvement activities to address areas of non-compliance or ensure procedures are followed
Required Qualifications: Relevant nursing qualifications Experience in product development, delivering cost reduction/transformation programmes, product development and working in an Agile product development Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities with special attention to accuracy and detail Ability to work closely and flexibly with multi-disciplinary teams Ability to effectively prioritise and multi-task in high volume workload situations Experience working in a primary care setting Experience with clinical systems Careers with Optum.
