Join us and help people live healthier lives while doing your life's best work.(sm) The Associate Behavioral Medical Director position is responsible for maintaining the clinical integrity of the program, including timely peer reviews, appeals and consultations with providers and other community based clinicians, including general practitioners. They work collaboratively with the Health Plan Medical Director, Clinical, Network and Quality staff as well as interact directly with Psychiatrists, Prescribers, and other clinical professionals who consult on various processes and programs. The Associate Behavioral Medical Director is part of a leadership team that manages development and implementation of medical expense initiatives. They will also advise leadership on improvement opportunities regarding medical expense programs and clinical activities that impact medical expense. Our clinical vision drives the team to improve the quality of care our consumers receive. Primary Responsibilities:Ensuring delivery of cost effective quality care that incorporates recovery, resiliency and person - centered servicesResponsible for Level of Care guidelines and utilization management protocolsResponsible for oversight and management, along with the Clinical Director and Clinical Program Director, utilization review, management and care coordination activitiesProvide clinical oversight to the clinical staff, oversee the management of services at all levels of care in the benefit planKeep current regarding Evidence Based Practices and treatment philosophies including those that address Recovery and ResilienceProvide clinical support to our internal care advocacy staff through regularly scheduled clinical rounds and ad hoc consultations Provide peer support to our network providers through peer-to-peer reviews Provide a heightened level of clinical oversight related to both Baker Act and Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP) admissions Engage in annual program analysis and consultation on plan design modifications, as needed, to meet the needs of a particular group and address any identified gaps or barriers to care
Required Qualifications:Doctor of Medicine or OsteopathyCurrent license to practice as a physician without restrictions in state of FLBoard certified in PsychiatryDemonstrated understanding of the clinical application of the principles of engagement, empowerment, rehabilitation and recoveryKnowledge of post-acute care planning such as home care, discharge planning, case management, and disease management Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing psychiatrist post residency strongly preferredExperience in public sector delivery systems and experience in state specific public sector services Experience working with community based programs and resources designed to aid the State Medicaid population If the hired individual resides in Florida (office based or telecommuting) this position requires the AHCA Level II background check (fingerprinting) by the State of Florida for all clinicians that have direct face to face contact with members OR employees who will have access to confidential patient data and will require renewal every five years.
