The Department of Social Work seeks a committed and enthusiastic professional who will advance the Department's mission of anti-oppression and will contribute to the breadth and depth of the educational experience provided by the department, such as through clinical practice and/or child welfare experience.
Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Council on Social Work Education accredited BSW and MSW Programs. In order to be considered for tenure, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to: 1) teach and/or perform other assignments effectively; 2) conduct scholarly achievement or research; 3) continue preparation and study in discipline; 4) contribute to student growth and development; and 5) provide service to the university and community. (IFO Article 22, Section B).
Doctor of Social Work (DSW) or Ph.D. in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates with a defended proposal and significant progress towards completion will be considered; however, the doctorate degree must be completed within one (1) year of hire.
Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution plus two (2) years of post MSW practice experience.
Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Currently possess or ability to obtain independent licensure as a social worker (LISW or LICSW) in Minnesota.
Knowledge of and experience with social justice activities to enhance already established program focus.
Demonstrated ability to model social work professional values and ethics, and to work effectively with colleagues.
Knowledge of and experience in clinical practice and/or child welfare.
Ability to teach across the undergraduate and graduate programs.
