The Department of Nursing offers an undergraduate program within the nursing discipline and is a fully accredited member of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
The four year Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing (BS) degree, also termed generic or traditional program, is a 68-credit major program preparing caring professional clinicians for practice in contemporary health care settings. The RN to BS program is online and includes 30 upper division nursing credits. Students with a previous AA, BS, or BA degree may complete the traditional program in less than four years. Primary responsibilities: Teach didactic and clinical/laboratory courses and/or online in a CCNE accredited undergraduate nursing program. Fulfill responsibilities of faculty membership within the department, school and university. Advise undergraduate students, and participate in the development and evaluation of nursing curricula. Engage in community and professional service associated within area of expertise.
Master's degree in nursing from an accredited University/Institution
Enrolled in a doctoral degree program with capacity of degree awarded/conferred within 5 years of hire date
Current or eligible for RN licensure in MN
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, faculty and community, including community agencies
Evidence of applied clinical effectiveness in specialty area and/or certification
Evidence of experience in teaching in specialty area
Experience as a clinical instructor in specialty area
Evidence of the ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
Doctoral degree in Nursing
Demonstrated success in teaching in a specialty area in an accredited baccalaureate nursing program
Experience with applicable nursing technology, online, informatics, and simulation
Demonstrated ability to team teach
Demonstrated continued education and professional development
