The UW Information School (iSchool) has an outstanding opportunity for a Human Resources Assistant Senior to provide specialized administrative support for faculty-related human resources activities. This position has responsibilities in the areas of faculty recruiting, hiring and general lifecycle support. iSchool Human Resources consistently supports approximately 400 individual positions for faculty, staff and student employees in addition to approximately 130 academic appointments with more than 60 corresponding supervisors. Work of the Human Resources Assistant Senior supports approximately 100 faculty positions and corresponding academic appointments. In addition, the individual in this role provides back-up support for the hiring of over 500 student employees annually.

What You'll Be Doing
Faculty Recruiting Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director and in collaboration with the Office of Academic Services and the iSchool Office of Faculty Affairs, provide support for recruitment processes for competitively hired faculty. Collaborate with the iSchool's Office of Academic Services on the recruitment and hiring of quarterly guest faculty. Primary duties include, processing faculty candidate application materials, correspondence with applicants, and the coordination of candidate schedules for multi-day campus interviews across multiple searches running concurrently (travel arrangements, interview schedules, etc).
Academic Personnel Actions Coordinate personnel processes and timelines for regular, adjunct, affiliate and visiting faculty appointments, including coordination with iSchool Faculty Affairs, the Elected Faculty Council, Dean's Office, and the Faculty Advisory Committee. Primary duties include, ensuring collaborators have the information needed, follow appropriate timelines and policy/procedure, and gather the necessary documentation for proper and timely processing of faculty personnel actions such as: Appointment; Reappointment; Tenure; Promotion; Periodic Review and Advisement; the coordination of visa requests and processing for foreign national workers and support of the faculty voting process and vote documentation for faculty personnel actions.
Administrative and payroll support Provide human resources related administrative support for faculty and students in the areas of hire, compensation, appointment and reappointment, and payroll, including Workday entries for HCM, Compensation and Payroll transactions, while adhering to federal, state, University and college level policies and procedures.

Knowledge of Federal and Washington State employment law.
Knowledge of University of Washington human resources policies.

Typically, a 40-hour, 5-days per week position in a standard office environment. This position is overtime eligible. To effectively complete timeline-driven projects and deadlines, flexibility in schedule and additional hours beyond standard office hours may be required.
