Under the supervision of the Director of Accounting Services, the Vendor Database Administrator (Administrator) is responsible for administration of the FIS Banner vendor database. The Administrator must understand each data element in the vendor entry form and how the data interacts with and initiates actions relating to system requisitions, the CruzBuy procurement system, and payment forms. The Administrator translates information received from vendors, and determines the correct information to enter into FIS Banner, with careful consideration given to the complexity of merger and buy-out relationships. The Administrator works closely with the Procurement and Business Contracts Department (Purchasing) to set up e-procurement vendors used in CruzBuy. The Administrator also provides policy guidance and performs a number of other support functions within Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR), as necessary.
Accounting Services provides payroll, accounts payable, plant and equipment accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger services to the campus. The Administrator is a member of the FAR team responsible for providing financial control and reporting, including policy interpretation; general, travel, plant and equipment accounting; vendor database services and tax reporting and policy guidance
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business administration or equivalent training/experience.
Experience working in Accounts Payable within a complex business environment using an integrated data processing system.
Experience implementing and interpreting accounts payable related policies and procedures in a decentralized business environment.
Ability to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse staff, faculty and vendor population, using excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Successfully undertake multiple, concurrent responsibilities in an organized and methodical fashion, and think creatively and innovatively when problem solving.
