The University of Washington Enrollment Information Services (EIS) department has an outstanding opportunity for a Report Analyst (Senior Computer Specialist).
Enrollment Information Services (EIS), a unit within the Enrollment Management, supports the Provost as well as the University of Washington community. EIS partners with the Office of the University Registrar (OUR). OUR is the steward of the University of Washington's academic history, maintaining the integrity of academic records and documenting the excellence of our students. The commitment to service is demonstrated every day in a variety of registration activities that support and implement faculty policies affecting teaching and learning.
The primary responsibility of the Reporting Analyst position will be to work as part of the EIS Data Management team to:
Respond to ad-hoc requests
Fulfill data requests as directed by Sr. Business Intelligence Developer and Associate Director for EIS.
Maintain content for Curriculum Management and MyPlan (Academic Explorer)
Create or modify existing T-SQL queries against Enterprise Data Warehouse to fulfill requests.
Direct users to existing BI Portal reports when appropriate. Provide support and expertise to campus partners to assist with increased utilization of BI tools.
Analyze, create, and test report output to ensure accurate and detailed data is supplied to the end user.
Assist with implementation/review of data quality improvement processes and initiatives.
Modify existing BI Portal reports (bug fixes and schema changes)
Create clear and meaningful documentation, both for a technical audience and for end users.
Create Tableau and Power BI Visualizations.
Support Degree and Major Coding process.
Maintain security access to the EDW working the Data Custodian (University Registrar) using the Security Metadata Administration Tool (SMAT).
2-3 years data analysis experience.
Proven ability to learn new data sources quickly.
Experience working in t-SQL, developing SSRS reports, or other data management tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong documentation skills (need to be able to write both technical documentation and documentation for end users).
Ability to successfully track and deliver multiple simultaneous projects.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Experience with higher education data.
Experience working with academic data.
Experience with UW Student Database and IT systems currently in use.
Experience developing data visualizations and dashboards.
