Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Coordinator.
The Financial Coordinator, under the direction of the Administrative Director and Business Manager of the Perlmutter Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office is responsible for assisting in the development, coordination, and submission of clinical trial budgets, and preparing detailed cost assessments for industry sponsored clinical trials and investigator-initialed studies. The Sr. Financial Coordinator will interact on a regular basis with faculty, research nurses, study coordinators, departmental offices, outside sponsors, other relevant staff.
Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Core Values and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
Analyze and manage clinical trial budgeting ensuring timely completion of budget negotiations with external sponsors and appropriate escalation of negotiations when fees are not agreed to by external sponsors.
In conjunction with the Business manager, provide support for the clinical trial finances, and must ensure that all activities occur in compliance with appropriate regulations and contractual obligations.
Be the primary liaison interacting professionally and effectively with Principal investigators and research staff to develop timely and appropriate billing plans and budgets for all protocols
Interacts with various service providers throughout the institution to ensure appropriate pricing of clinical research procedures that will be rendered outside of the Perlmutter Cancer Center.
Ensures appropriate billing for research procedures and tracking of all payments providing authorization for charges applied to study accounts.
Attends and participates in meetings and/or committees, as required
Performs other additional duties assigned as it relates to this position
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree in business related field or science. At least 2 -3 years experience in clinical trials, clinical research or research administration Budgeting, accounting; general medical terminology for Cancer Clinical trials.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree At least 2 3 years experience in Cancer Center clinical research administration. Direct experience in the financial planning of clinical trials strongly preferred. Knowledge of Cancer Clinical Trials Protocols and procedures as it relates to conducting clinical trials.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
