Conditions of Employment This is a full time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

Reporting to the Director of the Web Services, the Web Developer is to provide comprehensive design, development, and technical support services across multiple platforms for SSU websites. This is a highly collaborative role, with close working relationships between developers, designers, managers, and service stakeholders. The web developer is responsible for developing bug fixes and enhancements to the University's enterprise content management system (Drupal) and assisting campus customers with the migration of University websites.
Major duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Migrate current site content to Drupal and develop code and practices to automate parts of the migration process Work with a team of project managers, designers, developers and content strategists to complete customer website work on time and at a high standard of quality Maintain, troubleshoot, and provide customer support and documentation for websites built in the University's content management systems (primarily Drupal) Perform code reviews for other developers Continually research and learn evolving web technology, tools and approaches that support evolving needs, actively exchanging knowledge and expertise with colleagues Maintain positive working relationships with and provide service to colleagues and customers with diverse technical aptitudes
Incumbent must perform other secondary duties as assigned.
Duties take place mostly in an office setting located at Sonoma State University. The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday aligned with regular campus hours. As a non-exempt employee, any request for overtime will be specified and pre-approved by Appropriate Administrator. Evening and weekend hours may be required and will be specified only by the supervisor to meet operational needs. The incumbent must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such levels as is determined by the Appropriate Administrator. The position may require occasional travel, by automobile and airplane, and the incumbent must be able to work some night and weekend hours with overnight stays.
Position also requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, while maintaining attention to detail, as well as the ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment. Must possess enthusiasm for learning emerging technologies and integrating them into projects. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the university and establish and maintain productive and effective, inclusive working relationships amongst diverse populations including staff, faculty, administration, students, and other internal and external constituents. Must be able to accept constructive feedback and work cooperatively in group situations.
