Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Workers' Compensation, the WorkStrong Coordinator is a member of the Office of Risk Services, and is responsible for the development, long range planning, coordination and implementation of the campus WorkStrong program; directed toward improving employee participants' fitness and health and decreasing the frequency and severity of workers' compensation claims.
The UCSC Office of Risk Services supports the campus by helping departments identify their risk exposures, recommending strategies to reduce or eliminate identified risks, and administering the campus's insurance programs to facilitate maximum recovery from accidental losses. Our mission is to encourage and support a safe, healthy, and thriving community.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Must possess and maintain CPR and AED certifications.
Personal training certification from a nationally accredited institution such as ACSM, NSCA & AFFA, or ACE.
Bachelor's degree and/or any combination of education and professional experience in health promotion, exercise physiology, kinesiology or related field.
Knowledge of ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) fitness testing protocol.
Ability to collaborate with a medical team including physicians, physical therapists, dieticians, physiologists and other health care professionals.
Strong organizational skills and accuracy with details.
Ability to handle difficult, sensitive and confidential situations tactfully.
