Financial Aid Assistant - Temporary California College of the Arts
To support the Financial Aid Office during the implementation of Workday Student. This is a temporary position budgeted to go through June 2018, with the possibility of being extended. This is a part-time position at 30 hours per week.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Handles routine financial aid inquiries, drop-in advising questions, status inquiries and follow-ups by phone and in person. Performs word processing and data entry, and generates basic financial aid reports. (WebAdvisor Accept Reject Reports, Cancellation Reports, other cleanup reports deemed necessary.) Coordinates with Admissions Office to prepare financial aid award letters and admission packets to be sent out to perspective students. Handles private scholarship and loan checks: fills out appropriate forms and routes to Student Accounts; responsible for contacting students. Review incoming mail, route to appropriate counselor, scan and link student file in Image now. Responsible for document tracking, scanning, and linking of income documentation. (Image Now). Coordinates with Student Accounts Office and provides information on students' financial aid statuses. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Computer proficiency is required, experienced with Microsoft applications and google environment Must know general office management and fundamental processing of administrative details. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; strict attention to detail; ability to work successfully in a team environment with diverse individuals, including staff, student, faculty and the public. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, assimilate details about the range of Enrollment Management's programs, activities and services, and apply them effectively is essential. Experience in a financial aid office preferred.
