All residential staff supervise and support students throughout the summer by building a safe, nurturing and fun environment. They are responsible for overseeing our residential life program and promoting the academic and social success of our students. They are expected to be a visible, active, and accessible presence on campus and in the residence halls. They act as role models for students, ensuring students uphold the CTD Honor Code. Residential Assistants (RAs) are responsible for the care of 8 to 14 students. Commuter Assistants (CAs) carry out many of the same duties as RAs, with an emphasis on the care and supervision of commuter students. Auxiliary Residential Assistants (AUX RAs) must be able to fill in for any residential staff position and assist the Director Team as needed.

Full time work June 25 - August 11, 2018
Starting salary $2800 increasing to $3000 based on CTD Summer Program experience, plus room and board. 60-70 positions available.
Current or past enrollment in an undergraduate degree program
Experience working with students in a camp, residential program, or academic setting is a plus
A demonstrated interest in to the academic, social, and emotional growth of students
Exceptional problem-solving, communication and organizational skills
Strong work ethic, commitment to teamwork, motivated, professional, and flexible
A positive attitude toward a position’s expectations and responsibilities
Personal responsibility for the wellbeing of the students with whom they work
Must be able to traverse distances of at least one mile with or without accommodation
Must be able to lift and/or maneuver at least 40lbs
Ability to live on campus with students for the duration of the contract
Learn and implement CTD Policies and Procedures.
Uphold and promote the CTD Honor Code among staff and students.
Maintain CTD’s standard of active supervision at all times.
Support student engagement in residential programming, including leading student activities.
Develop community among residents that is inclusive, positive, safe, and fun.
Support development of social-emotional skills among students.
Support student health regarding diet and exercise, hygiene, sleep, stress management, and any specific health needs indicated by the family.
Communicate with parents and guardians using best practices in customer service.
Clearly and expediently communicate student needs with appropriate CTD support staff.
Support instructional staff during evening study session.
Ensure that rules are consistently and respectfully enforced in accordance with the CTD Discipline Guide. Address student behavior appropriately when necessary.
Evaluate student residential performance.
Assume other responsibilities as requested by A/RDs and CTD administrative staff.
