The Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program and the NYUAD Summer Academy together form the core of NYU Abu Dhabi's Community Programs, which offer a rigorous educational, cross-cultural, and leadership development experience to outstanding students in the UAE, and equip students from local institutions for admission to the world's top undergraduate and graduate programs. The Sheikh Mohamed Scholars Program is open to top students at the three national UAE universities-Zayed University, the United Arab Emirates University, and Higher Colleges of Technology-and provides unique access to specially designed courses, lectures, leadership experiences, networking, and graduate school opportunities and scholarships. The NYUAD Summer Academy is a two-year program designed to enhance the academic profiles of highly motivated Abu Dhabi-based Emirati high school students by preparing them for entry into top-tier English-language universities. Under the supervision of the Senior Director, the Manager of Academic and Administrative Services is responsible for the following duties: • Serve as a key partner to provide a rewarding academic and leadership training experience for the students and alumni served by these programs. • Provide general academic resource support to the program faculty as appropriate, including compiling materials or conducting general research in support of the implementation of the programmatic curriculum. • Provide collaborative guidance on strategic planning and quality assurance initiatives, including the formation and implementation of program policies, conduct academic research (e.g., performance measurement and/or on programmatic best practices • Implement policies supported by research efforts in collaboration with the team to ensure well-support program modifications or expansions. • Collaborate on budget and reporting processes for smooth functioning across NY and AD offices, including liaising with program partners as needed. • Draft reports as needed. • Manage support staff and supervise chaperones as needed for program events. • Other duties as requested by the Executive and Senior Directors.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
Preferred Education: Master's degree in higher education, public administration, or related degree.
Required Experience: Two or more years of relevant work experience in an academic or corporate environment, with specific experience in teaching, research, and training in a variety of public policy and academic areas. Experience planning and implementing related activities and events in support of academic and research efforts, including operations, budget, and people management
Preferred Experience: Experience with higher education. Experience working with international students.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Enthusiasm and energetic desire to carry out the mission of the NYUAD Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Community Programs. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to develop and implement process, policy, and related recommendations for senior management. Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse cultures and populations. Excellent judgment, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidences. Ability to be creative and flexible in response to fast-changing and complex work situations
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent proficiency with MS Office and Google suite of tools. Fluency in English. Exposure to the Gulf Region and/or students of that region.
