An enabling force behind the work being done at Cornell is technology. The entire Cornell community depends on our talented centralized IT group to provide support for all technology related needs. Cornell Information Technologies (CIT) is composed of 7 teams which include; IT Business Services, IT Security Office, IT Communication and Documentation, the Project Management Office, Customer Service & Support, Applications Services and Infrastructure Services. This position will play a critical role leading the Infrastructure Services Division.
What you will do:
The Director of Infrastructure Services will work as a supportive leader to deliver the best services and solutions possible to Cornell. This role has a direct impact on the overall success of Cornell by identifying and responding to dynamic Infrastructure challenges technology opportunities through entrepreneurial problem solving and excellent customer service.
From an organizational structure standpoint, you will report directly to the CIO of the university and be a member of the IT leadership team. You will have a team of ~ 42 and be a leader who ensures their full potential. By providing guidance and mentorship, you will work to create a culture of teamwork, collaboration, inspiration and innovation.
Additionally, you will:
Develop effective working partnerships across the university with key stakeholders such as: Vice Presidents, College Business Officers, Vice Provosts, IT Directors within Cornell's 14 colleges and of course your peers and team.

Ideally, you will have spent time working in leading a fast paced, high energy, agile environment where you thrived on tackling challenges and inspiring innovation. If you have served as a CIO for a small to medium sized organization this could be a great stepping-stone into a larger highly complex environment. Additionally, you will have:
A minimum of 10 years' experience managing a large IT functional area, ideally in the realm of Infrastructure along with education and /or experience equivalent to a related master's degree.
An understanding and experience with Voice / VoIP, Data Networks, Computation and Data Storage services within a large enterprise context
Working knowledge with AWS / Docker or like IaaS environments
