The College enrolls more than 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students. Our 122 faculty members together with the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation currently have more than $55 million in active research and development grants.
The Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development (ELPHD) emphasizes exemplary teaching, scholarship, and service in the context of a university education and has a vibrant research culture that inspires and guides students through teaching, advising, and dissertation supervision. As researchers and teachers, the faculty explore complex and pressing contemporary issues and problems facing education and society—including community-focused leadership development, improving performance in high-poverty rural schools, college access and student success, and state and institutional and policies that affect adult learning—with a view toward solutions that will make a real, positive difference for students, teachers, administrators, and communities.
The department offers graduate degree programs in Adult, Workforce and Continuing Professional Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis, Counselor Education, and Higher Education. We prepare professionals who educate and lead. Our inquiry and practice reflect integrity, a commitment to social justice, and the value of diversity in a global community.
Interact with faculty and current and prospective students for graduate degree programs via telephone, email, and as receptionist.
Assist department Graduate Services Coordinators with various tasks including admission letters; paperwork for oral examinations, committee changes, etc.; reserving conference rooms/classrooms, and other tasks as needed.
Provide administrative support for faculty and graduate assistants with various tasks.
Work to involve use of NCSU Student Information System, MS Word, Excel, G-suite applications (G-mail, sheets, docs), NextGen application system.
Attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge of the NCSU Student Information System (SIS)
Familiarity with G-suite applications
One or more years of administrative support experience in higher education environment
