Full Time 40 hours Grade 007 SMH Neurology Pediatrics Schedule 8 AM-4:30 PM Responsibilities General Purpose: Schedule patients for the Department of Neurology Child Neurology clinic. Responsible for triaging phone calls for the Department of Neurology, Division of Child Neurology (contacting medical staff for urgent matters and assisting in scheduling and canceling appointments per patient requests or at the request of internal staff or outside sources). Supports patient related activities and services as well as scheduling and arranging tests and referrals for patients. Specific Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the practice administrator carries out the following functions. Answer incoming calls, triage calls to the appropriate destination. Ensure an accurate and complete registration. Responsible for courteous and efficient telephone communication. Schedule patients through the Flowcast system accurately and timely and monitor for changes in availability. Tasks in eRecord: Route encounters to providers using the eRecord system by creating telephone/refill encounters when taking messages. Provides accurate and efficient documentation for providers and pages providers when appropriate, relaying patient concerns and needs. Check in-basket messages frequently and reply in a timely manner. Monitor the referral work queue for new requests. Process requests for appointments in a timely fashion. Monitor Televox reports and follow up with patients, rescheduling as needed. Receive and process prescriptions fax/phone request. Process prior authorizations for prescription medications. Check faxes, sort and distribute as appropriate. Distribute incoming mail. Qualifications High school diploma and 2.5 years related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated skills related to achievement of customer satisfaction. Demonstrates the ICARE values to patients, families and staff.
