Wells College seeks a detail-oriented, culturally sensitive professional with international admissions experience to fill the new position of International Recruitment & Operations Coordinator. The incumbent will coordinate and implement recruitment strategies designed to recruit, select, and enroll prospective international students. The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining positive contact with students from the point of inquiry through new student orientation, advising them on federal regulations, and advocating for them throughout the transition process. This position will assist with the development of a new recruitment plan for increasing international student enrollment that is audience specific, explores new emerging markets, and focuses on creating new partnerships. As part of the operations team, the Coordinator is also responsible for maximizing the efficiency of the application process, managing credentials, and overseeing key aspects of the applicant experience.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Serve as primary point of contact and customer service representative to prospective international students and applicants, providing consistent, accurate and timely information about the College.
Open, review, and triage all incoming Admission inquiries - calls, mail, email, Skype, etc. A flex work schedule and evening hours will be required during peak recruitment times.
Track all leads, inquiries, and applications via the admissions CRM (Slate) and correspond with international recruitment agencies, partners, and prospects.
Advise prospective students on the College’s programs, curriculum, calendars, performance outcomes and financial considerations.
Collect immigration documents from applicants and issue initial attendance I-20s for new F-1 students, along with necessary visa information and guidance, as well as coordinate all admissions processes for international students.
Communicate with accepted students on deposits, housing, flight information, etc., identifying all candidates who seem concerned about eventual enrollment at Wells College.
Assist with developing an international recruiting plan that is audience and program specific to seek new partnerships and meet international student enrollment goals.
Build close working relationships with overseas representatives and agents, when applicable, to ensure that the prospective student experience is seamless, efficient, pleasant and informative. Coordinate and provide support in managing all international recruitment partnerships for the college including individual agents, agencies, language schools, and partner schools.
Collect and analyze information on international markets to effectively implement recruiting campaigns.
Coordinate and attend all recruitment events to recruit undergraduate international students to the college. International and off-campus travel will be limited and on an as needed basis.
Develop and offer virtual presentations about the college and conduct webinars for students, parents and other constituents.
Coordinate the documentation for all application materials arriving through various channels, process applications for review upon completion, facilitate student record creation, calculate GPA’s, render admissions decisions and manage the enrollment confirmation process.
Required skills, knowledge and abilities: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, able to handle confidential information in a professional manner, detail oriented, public speaking skills, superior networking skills, able to work unsupervised and take initiative on projects as well as to see projects through completion, capable of seeing the big picture and understanding divisional goals to prioritize work accordingly, able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet goals and deadlines. Contribute to a collegial, goal-oriented, and positive work environment. Able to see, hear and speak effectively to perform the required tasks of the position. Valid driver's license is required. Although travel is limited, a valid passport is preferred.
Qualification standards: Bachelor’s degree required (from a private, liberal arts college preferred).
Minimum two years’ experience in college admission required. At least one year experience working with international students. Ability to work with prospective students from various parts of the world required. Preference will be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following:
Experience working in foreign countries.
Experience communicating in languages other than English.
SEVIS training or DSO designation.
Proficiency with technology - including Microsoft Word, Excel, database systems, CRM systems (specifically Slate by Technolutions), etc.
Familiarity with agents and immigration policies.
Ability to mine and analyze data to inform decision making.
