Our Social Work and Care Coordination Department has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time (50%) Medical Social Worker to provide coverage to two ten hour shifts per week (Nights: Wed and Thurs 9:00pm to 7:30 am) in our Emergency Department. This individual will provide direct services to Emergency Department patients and their support system in consultation with the interdisciplinary team on a per diem basis. Direct services will include screening, psychosocial assessment, psychiatric evaluation, counseling, discharge planning, advocacy, education and referral, and treatment and disposition planning.
Social Worker 1 Requirements:
A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education and six months experience in a health care setting either as MSW practicum or work experience.
Legal Requirements: Registration as either an 1) Agency Affiliated Counselor, 2) Licensed Social Work Associate Advanced or 3) Licensed Social Work Associate Independent Clinical by the State of Washington within 90 days of employment.
Social Worker 2 Requirements:
A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education AND two years of full-time professional social work experience in a related or health care setting or equivalent.
Legal Requirements: Registration as either an 1) Agency Affiliated Counselor, 2) Licensed Social Work Associate Advanced or 3) Licensed Social Work Associate Independent Clinical by the State of Washington within 90 days of employment. Obtain Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW) by the State of Washington within one year of employment.
Desired: Social Worker experience in an Emergency Department. May be hired as a Social Worker 1 or 2, depending on qualifications.
