The Health Educator is responsible for: planning, implementing and evaluating health strategies, policies, programs and services for TAMU students; providing health training and guidance; performing outreach functions on and off campus; and supervising student staff, interns and/or peer educators.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of experience with student affairs or related field
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of legal and compliance issues related to Title IX, VAWA, and other legislation regarding sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
Attention to detail, Confidentiality, Dependability and Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Two years working in prevention education to include; two years working with issues of sexual harassment, sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, and/or stalking,.
Experience working with college students related to sexual health and/or interpersonal communication.

Other Preferred Requirements:
Understanding and knowledge of concepts of college student development
Design, implement, and evaluate presentations and workshops to students, faculty and staff in alignment with department mission for sexual harassment prevention, sexual, dating and domestic violence prevention, and stalking prevention.
Design, implement, and evaluate programs to meet department goals. Coordinate correspondence, publications and reports focused on sexual harassment prevention, sexual, dating and domestic violence prevention, and stalking prevention. Meet directly with students and provide support to peer educators as needed for education and programming.
Stay current on trends in sexual harassment prevention, sexual, dating and domestic violence prevention, and stalking prevention as well as new legislation, state laws, federal requirements, and national standards relating to these above mentioned topics. Work with supervisor to create and maintain professional development plan, this may include utilizing campus trainings and/or attending professional conferences directly affiliated with job responsibilities.
Manage assessment. This includes developing outcomes that meet department and university goals, developing and implementing assessment, interpreting and communicating findings and maintaining required documentation of assessment plan as they related to programs and activities that you facilitate. This also includes working collaboratively with other offices and/or departments to implement assessment for other programs associated with sexual harassment, sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking. Assessment also includes collecting and appropriately utilizing campus climate data as it pertains to sexual harassment, sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
Serve as representative on Department, Division and University committees and task forces, and at events. Maintain positive working relationships with office and department stakeholders. Serve as a department liaison for sexual harassment prevention, sexual, dating and domestic violence prevention, and stalking prevention. Attend and actively engage in Department and Division meetings, trainings, and functions. Advance the philosophy of multiculturalism and promote diversity in staffing, programming and student leadership and perform other duties as assigned.
