The HSI Initiatives Department is looking for a creative, self-starter with a passion for student success. The primary focus of the HSI Initiatives Department is to create, address and implement best practices as it pertains to enrollment, persistence, graduation and transfer of Lee College's under served student populations. This position will be responsible for creating and implementing a Supplemental Instructional Program to address retention and engagement services needed for several high drop/fail courses. This individual will also be responsible for implementing high impact practices such as peer mentoring to address retention and persistence barriers. This individual will work with students, faculty and academic skills specialists to offer resources and interventions to enhance student success.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create, implement and facilitate operations of a new Supplemental Instruction Program.
Work with the students, faculty and academic skills specialists to offer resources and interventions to enhance student success.
Work collaboratively with Activity Director to recruit, train and schedule a team of tutors and supplemental instructors.
Assist with daily operations and student services offered in the STEM Hub.
Create and maintain Excel database, tutor training materials and tutoring forms.
Maintain on-going monitoring and tracking of tutoring and supplemental instructional processes and progress.
Assist with grant reporting on progress of Supplemental Instruction Program.
Maintain effective filing system to keep STEM Hub data organized and accurate.
Work with faculty to meet the academic needs of students, especially in the areas of retention and engagement.
Participate in grant and other related events and team meetings.
Participate in evening and weekend special events and activities.
Ensure confidentiality of participant records.
Maintain the office area in a fashion which exhibits a professional atmosphere.
Work evenings and weekends as required.
Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assist with clerical duties as needed.
Assist with and participate in field trips as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Excellent benefits accrue with this full-time position. This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of the position is based on the continuation of the grant and satisfactory job performance. This is a security sensitive position.

One (1) year of related work experience in a higher education environment in any of the following areas: creating and/or working with peer mentoring, retention efforts and/or student success
Must be proficient in composition, spelling and proofreading
Must be friendly, outgoing, energetic and demonstrate exceptional customer service abilities
Must be dependable and demonstrate initiative
Exceptional computer skills including expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access
Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with superb skills in oral and written communication, planning and organization
Solid organizational, time management and filing skills
Detail orientated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, plus meet deadlines
Flexible, organized and creative with the ability to switch gears and move from one task to another with frequent interruptions (e.g., a busy phone, constant office visitors, etc.)
Creativity to produce publications and PowerPoint presentations
