University of Maryland Baltimore, the School of Pharmacy is currently seeking a Program Director. The Program Director is responsible for strategic oversight, and enhancements of research and programmatic activities of the Behavioral Health Research, Resource and Education Program whose major research initiatives include prevention, implementation and dissemination science methods development and the evaluation of large-scale prevention and treatment programs. Key activities involve managing and monitoring progress of collaborative research initiatives and partnerships; distributing new grant proposals (RFPs) to internal and external stakeholders; supervision and management of program staff; developing goals and tactics to achieve program objectives; ensures timelines and deadlines are met; and works closely with the Executive Director of the Program on business development and aligning activities with the University of Maryland, Baltimore priorities and strategic goals.

Prepares, coordinates, and maintains program content and delivery methods for the daily operations and events within that specific organizational program.
Oversees and actively participates in research and service activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the Program. Manages Program staff and volunteers.
May interact with students and trainees, and facilitate resolution through technical and/or clerical personnel.
Uses data and coordinates the use of databases used to analyze criteria and deliver data, as well as to monitor, evaluate, and revise program operating policies and procedures.
Organizes and/or participates in various committees and teams to consult with program heads and administrative officials on policy and program needs as well as various administrative issues.
Coordinates the regular publication of summary reports and serves as an information resource to coworkers, the university, and external figures.
Develops new initiatives to support the strategic direction for the Program.
Develops funding sources for the program, through grant seeking, major fundraising events and/or donations.
Creates a cohesive work team that works collaboratively to achieve program's goals.
Oversees the recruitment, performance, and training of team members and continually reviews strengths and weaknesses of staff to maintain a well-trained, highly involved, and motivated team.
Assures compliance with all requirements of funding agencies that provide support for the Program.
Education: Bachelors in related field
Experience: Six (6) years working in an appropriate field with at least two (2) years of experience of overall responsibility for program direction, coordination and implementation. Supervisory: Two (2) years of direct supervision and management experience.
Other: No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree, masters, doctoral or clinical degree (e.g. PhD, ScD, DrPH/other in social sciences, public health, engineering, business/other, PharmD, MD, or DPN) and related research experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiar with federal grant submission and reporting processes
Possesses the skills/demonstrated experience necessary to positively influence others to submit proposals and receive funding and/or favorable scores
Efficient at distributing funding opportunities announcements and supporting grant submissions that are in the best interest of the Program and related projects in a timely manner
Ability to set research priorities, develop a sustainability plan for research and related activities, monitor progress, and track reporting requirements
Hiring Range: High $70K to Mid $80K - Commensurate with education and experience
