The University of Houston in Houston, TX, has an immediate opportunity in Postal and Printing Services Operations for a director to be responsible for the operational implementation and direction of the university's centralized printing and postal services operation. Specific responsibilities include:
Directs the planning, development and implementation of services and directs the daily activities and operations of the university's printing and postal service units.
Develops goals, objectives and business/marketing plans for printing and postal services.
Directs the daily operations of the campus mail program which includes critical collaborations with campus stakeholders.
Oversees vendor performance, contract development, contract compliance and management, communication and marketing.
Gathers and evaluates data to determine progress toward accomplishing goals and objectives, and evaluates services to ensure campus community needs and requirements are met in a fair and professional manner.
Analyzes market trends, job profiles, cost and productivity standards for the improvement of services and profitability.
Implements service enhancements based on industry best practices.
Formulates, implements, and maintains appropriate printing and postal services policies and procedures.
Oversees the administration of the steering committees for printing and postal services.
Performs other job-relate duties.
Bachelors and 5 years’ experience
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
Preferred qualifications/Preferred Certifications: Have at least one of the following: CMDSM Certified Mail Distribution Systems Manager and/or CMM Certified Mail Manager, MDC Mailpiece Design Consultant, or MDP Mailpiece Design Professional. Executive Mail Center Management Program experience in managing program budgets of at least $1 million with a preference of managing self-sustaining print operations and mail service operations. Knowledge of web services, management information systems as they relate to web ordering, estimating, job tracking and chargebacks. Experience with EFI PrintSmith and Digital Storefront print shop management system or like type print management systems. Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn university mail service requirements. Experience in printing and graphic design. Ability to think strategically about the future of the integration of the Printing and Mail Services business model and the campus community's needs.
Salary: $5,135.00 - $6,674.00
