The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Kentucky is recruiting a board certified AP/CP or CP pathologist with additional certification/training in transfusion medicine. The successful candidate would join an academic hospital-based practice and engage in clinical service, collaborative research and teaching duties. Experience in clinical laboratory management particularly in the areas of coagulation and/or hematology is desirable. This open-rank position is available July 1, 2018 and will remain open until the appropriate individual is recruited.
The department (http://www.mc.uky.edu/pathology/) is an integrated department of pathology with successful programs in anatomic and clinical pathology, a vibrant educational program for medical students, residents and fellows as well as research affiliations with the Markey Cancer Center. Demonstrated ability in teaching students at all levels in an academic environment, as well as knowledge of pathology and laboratory medicine practices in a variety of clinical, teaching and research environments.
Ability to relate and communicate with internal and external faculty, staff, and other clients of this department is required.

Required Related Experience:
Completion of residency as well as fellowship training or equivalent experience in transfusion medicine.
Previous experience in transfusion medicine and Hematology laboratory services or experience in similar laboratories is required.
Required License/Registration/Certification :
Certification or eligibility by the American Board of Pathology in clinical pathology
Experience in clinical laboratory management particularly in the areas of coagulation and/or hematology is desirable.
