The Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is committed to training and inspiring the next generation of health care leaders. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Program Administration, the Project Manager will work closely with multiple faculty members and other research team members on a new, complex international comparison project, which will require significant international site coordination. In addition, the Project Manager will dedicate about 25% of their effort to other research projects, with a focus on analysis. In addition to their work on these projects, the Project Manager will also have 1 direct report.
Specifically, the Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Working both independently and in collaboration with the Co-Investigator to develop and design study protocol, while implementing the currently defined standards - Analysis and development of required procedures, project aims and goals as they relate to implementation plans - Facilitating communication and coordinating work flow with affiliated research personnel at 11 other international locations and institutions - Submitting project deliverables and reports - Overseeing the work of other research staff, including research assistants - Managing a complex database - Advising on analytical approach and statistical testing - Regularly taking part in the assessment of data validity - Processing, organizing, analyzing and summarizing data, reporting results - Creating and drafting materials for research papers, manuscripts, progress reports, articles, or other documents for publication - Facilitating Webinars with domestic and international partners - Other duties as assigned
PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term appointment of December 14, 2019, with the possibility of extension. PLEASE NOTE: Travel to numerous locations in Europe is required for 15% of the time for this position.

- Bachelor's Degree required - 3+ years of Program and/or Project Management experience required - Experience with statistical programming required, particularly SAS, STATA or R
- Master's degree in health or social science preferred - 1+ years of previous supervisory experience strongly preferred - Experience overseeing a team of researchers (in lieu of direct supervisory experience), is a strong plus - Proficiency with EndNote preferred - Demonstrated knowledge of research populations and/or techniques - Knowledge of standard research methods and statistical techniques - Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Detail-oriented, team-oriented, candidates preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills are a must. Strong interest in global healthcare quality and policy research.
