The Cell Therapy and Cell Engineering Facility develops, validates, and implements procedures critical to gene transfer-related clinical research including: genetic engineering and ex vivo transduction of patient cells, vector production, R&D work relating to vector production and transduction of patient cells, molecular analysis of gene transfer efficiency and transgene expression in patient cells.
We are currently looking for a Senior Cell Manufacturing Assistant to assist investigators under general supervision.
Assist investigators in the development and quality control of ancillary cells (master cell banks), genetically modified hematopoietic patient cells (CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors and lymphocytes) and embryonic stem cells
Analyze gene expressions in cell and patient lines (FACS, PCR and Q-PCR); participates in the analysis of data and contribute to evaluation
Play an active role in the development, writing and updating of SOPs
Play an active role in training and supervising other Research Technicians for designated projects
Play a lead role in research and development for new protocols and cGMP compliant procedures
BA/BS with five (7) years related experience or MA/MS with three (5) year related experience required
Must have knowledge of in molecular and cellular biology
Must have experience with computers and database applications
Previous experience in a QC, a cGMP or clinically regulated environment strongly preferred
Previous experience with qPCR, FACS analysis, cell cloning, tissue and cell culture, and stem cells or T-cells strongly preferred
Knowledge of biotechnologies including database management, preferred
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (Monday – Friday)
