Position is headquartered in Stephenville, Texas with travel to teach courses/clinical and attend meetings/events as necessary on and off campus; appointment is a 9-month base with a possible additional 3-month appointment (based upon teaching credits).
Responsibilities: 80% Teaching: Develop, implement and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology and other tools; Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect the current levels of knowledge in the discipline; Exhibit willingness to work in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify professional development activities which will lead to effective student learning outcomes. Primary responsibility in the Department of Nursing will be effective teaching in the classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical areas for undergraduate students; Design and /or implement course(s)/clinical(s) consistent with the programs curriculum; Create a positive, effective, learning environment for students in all areas; Collect and use evaluation data to improve teaching, learning, and student competency; Function as an effective, cohesive team member; Be present on campus and available for student access and inquiry.
15% Service: Exhibit a mature view of your discipline; Maintain an appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry; Work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising, orientation; Participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorships, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment and mentoring of new and part-time faculty. Participate in department, college, and university committees, teams, or task forces; Provide accurate advising information and serve as an advocate for nursing students; Participate in on-going and end-of-semester evaluation of the BSN program and annual data collection and analysis of student learning outcomes; Function as an effective team member at the department, college, and university levels.
5% Scholarship: Remain current in nursing discipline and events related to the healthcare environment; Participates in scholarly activities and applies evidence-based practice in the classroom and clinical settings with students as they provide care.
Earned Master degree in Nursing from a school approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; Must be eligibile for current RN licensure in Texas; Demonstrated strong communication and relational skills.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills: Demonstrated ability and skills to work within a team with a connective and collaborative approach.
