Wells College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice position to support a new and growing Bachelor of Arts degree program at its Aurora, New York campus. The successful candidate will teach theoretical and applied courses in the field of Criminal Justice, including but not limited to: Criminology; Criminal Justice; Juvenile Justice; and Corrections. As part of the position’s teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to: develop new courses in the field of Criminal Justice areas of expertise; serve as program coordinator, which includes major/minor advising, senior theses supervision, curriculum development and assessment; keep abreast of developments in the field of study; engage in scholarly activity (research, publications, presentations); participate in Departmental projects and other forms of College service; and other duties, as assigned. Applicants should be committed to innovative teaching and conscientious advising and display a record of scholarly contributions to the field.
Qualified candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field. The position will begin August 2018.
