Posting Summary: The University of Virginia launched three new Pan-University Institutes focused on multidisciplinary cross school research. This position supports the business and administrative operations of the Institutes, and serves as a key staff member that will work closely with the leadership teams to administer the work of the Institutes. The successful candidate will perform a variety of professional and operational duties that facilitate the day-to-day operations. This includes facilitating and coordinating fiscal, planning, and operational activities in support of the Institutes and VPR mission. Duties combine fiscal and administrative responsibilities. The work is both informed and independent.
Required Minimum Level of Education: *Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
Required Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's degree with three years of experience.
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: Requires a minimum of three years of previous experience in accounting or financial administration.
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Preferred Specific Experience: Design and maintain websites
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency with Integrated System (Oracle) or current UVA program.
Responsibilities currently expected to be assigned include UVA PO Purchaser, UVA GM Project Manager, UVA LD Approver, UVA AP P-Card Holder and UVA GL Specialist.
Additional Integrated System responsibilities may be assigned, as needed.
Experience running and accurately interpreting GA and GL reports.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet responsibilities with minimal supervision, including taking initiative to solve problems effectively and creatively, consulting with management, as needed.
Proficient typing capabilities
Emerging knowledge of University, state, and federal policies and regulations. Ability to conduct activities and make decisions according to ethical standards.
