Bachelor's degree and coaching experience at the collegiate level required. Must be proficient with computers and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as they apply to recruitment and player eligibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Keep abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to NCAA Rule changes concerning Football and recruiting.
Maintain knowledge of offensive, defensive and special teams coaching strategies.
Evaluate athletes’ skills and review performance records to determine their fitness and potential in a particular area of athletics.
Provide training, direction, encouragement and motivation for student-athletes.
Contact football prospects and provide information and answer questions about the University.
Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of prospective athletes.
Plan coaching and practice sessions in accordance with NCAA regulations.
Coach team members individually and in groups, and demonstrate game techniques. May manage a designated skill development area or group of positions (offense, defense, linebackers, quarterbacks, receivers, etc.)
Counsel student athletes on academic, athletic, and personal issues.
Identify and recruit potential athletes by sending recruitment letters, meeting with recruits, and arranging athletic scholarships.
File scouting reports that detail player assessments and provide recommendations on athlete recruitment.
Support mission of the Yosef Club for fundraising purposes. Serve as a University representative at off-campus and on-campus fundraising events.
Monitor the academic eligibility of prospective student athletes, and ensure the academic integrity of the institution is maintained in the acceptance of recruited athletes.
Emphasize, support and monitor the educational activities of the student-athletes so as to help ensure that student-athletes' progress toward a degree in a defined academic program.
Maintain effective relationships with student-athletes, peers, administrators, faculty, media representatives, and the general public; Work to integrate sports into the whole spectrum of academic life to complement the University and its mission in the community.
Attend weekly meetings to discuss recruiting efforts based upon position need, academic eligibility, and character integrity of prospective athletes.
