Reporting to the Director of Community & Inclusion, the Assistant Director will contribute to the development and execution of plans to meet department and school goals related to inclusion building and diversity initiatives. This position will manage Yale SOM's diversity and inclusion related programming events, both on and off-campus. Contributes to the development and execution of diversity related on and off-campus events and programs. Collaborate with student clubs to design programs and with alumni to encourage attendance/participation. Select and reserve venues, communicate with prospective invitees, manage registration process, conduct follow-up surveys, analyze data and develop recommendations for future events. Manages the communication with the Yale SOM community to make them aware of the diversity and inclusion building programs happening across the school. Serve as a resource and primary liaison for assigned affinity student clubs. Provide assistance and guidance related to speakers, events, treks, regional background information, etc. Creation and analysis of program event feedback surveys, work with Director on developing new program events. Manages database lists with key diversity contacts: partner organizations, alumni and external organizations. In concert with the Director, works to develop print and website diversity related content. Ensure that key messages with respect to diversity initiatives are positioned and integrated, and that the needs of diverse audiences are considered and met. Participate in shaping new programming by collaborating in the ideation and presentation to internal and external committees of new diversity initiatives. Other projects and initiatives as assigned. Evening hours and occasional travel required.

Global experience with Latin America (or language proficiency) is strongly preferred.
Required Licenses Or Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
