The Department of Research Administration is seeking a strong applicant for the Project Manager position. Reporting to the Director of Research Finance, the Project Manager will provide administrative and Financial support for research related activities of the department. The ideal candidate is self-directed, utilizes a high degree of judgement and can prioritize duties and meet multiple deadlines.
Responsible for full oversight of Effort Reporting at HMS:
Serve as the Medical School Tub Effort Coordinator (TEC) for the Harvard Effort Reporting System (eCRT) Responsible for the administration and tracking of the quarterly and annual effort statements
Analyze financial transactions related to compensation and effort in order to identify and mitigate potential risks and to ensure complaince
Responsible for taking corrective action as necessary, independently or in conjunction with the Director of Research Finance
Serve as the subject matter expert for all HMS/HSDM effort related questions regarding policy, administration, and compliance
Create and implement processes and procedures for all employees at HMS and HSDM in the areas of effort reporting
Serve as the main point of contact for HMS with Central Administartion at the University and attend all effort meetings (EROC). etc.
Create, coordinate and implement all eCRT trainings at the local and University level
Monitor maximum and minimum effort for faculty at HMS/HSDM to ensure complaince with School policy
Analize and monitor faculty salary caps at HMS/HSDM to ensure compliance to mitigate funding risks
Liason with departments in the creation of MOU's for cross-institutional faculty and evaluate impact on effort reporting
Provide guidance during the annual Single Uniform Guidance Audit on effort certification
Responsible for the coordination and oversight of the University quarterly subrecipient reporting
Coordinate with HMS/HSDM departments between quarters to ensure complaince within subreceipient monitoring
Manage the communication of the high risk subs with HMS/HSDM departments
Attend all HMS/HSDM subrecipient subcommittee meetings (HMSSMC)
Attend the University Subreceipient Meetings (HUSMC)
Grant Management Oversight:
Manage a grant portfolio for all pass through awards provided to our Affiliates
Responsible for the preparing, reconciling, and monitoring of all invoices for our pass through awards
Work collaboratively with OSP and SPA on all reporting for the pass through portfolio
Serve as the primary School contact for all finance related matters regarding affiliates pass through awards
Provide project management support for new and ongoing projects within the Office of Research Administration
Provides research support services to the faculty engaged in sponsored programs throughout all of HMS
Responsible for the implementation, adherence and training of the PI Dashboard for grants management oversight
Serve on research support related committees as determined to be necessary, within HMS and HU

Bachelors degree required and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Excellent written, verbal and analytical communication skills required. Proven ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information, as well as strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with various constituencies. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Knowledge and experience of Harvard systems including Payroll, Peoplesoft, GMAS, OBI, and the Effort Reporting System (eCRT). Must be committed to providing the highest level of customer service and responsiveness. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Careful attention to detail is required. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and thrive on managing multiple tasks.
